Vizag Zoo Relief Operation:
ARPF sent a special team of 12 members for the Vizag zoo aid. The team worked for 4 days exceptionally on Bird aviary which was completely damaged and crushed under the trees due to the cyclone. A total of 8 dead birds were fished out of the the broken and damaged cages and 43 injured and weak birds (Painted storks, rosy pelicans, black ibis, egrets) which were stuck and trapped inside the leftover cage were successfully removed and shifted to to the zoo hospital and rehabilitated back into the wild.
Team ARPF would like to thank Hyderabad zoo curator, WWF Hyderabad and Vizag zoo managment for all the aid provided to the team during the rescue operaion.
